History of Alicudi

Alicudi is the westernmost Aeolian Island and is mostly preferred by those who need ultimate relaxation away from crowds and noises. It is known for its abundace in heather flowers. Touristic infrastructure is still undeveloped on the island, hence there are not many hotels nor paved streets. The only means of transportation are mules which are mostly used by locals, boats and walking. Alicudi forms a great choice for tourists who also want to swim in clear blue waters in private bays. The local food is also delicious, mostly fresh vegetables and seafood caught by local fishermen.
