High-Speed Ferries to Greek Islands

A High-Speed vessel is a high-speed water ferry for civilian use, also called Fast Passenger Ferry. The first Fast Ferries were often hydrofoils or hovercraft, but in the 1990s catamaran and monohull designs become very popular and hydrofoils and hovercrafts are no longer built. Most High-Speed Ferries serve destinations as passenger's vessels, but the largest catamarans and monohulls also carry private cars, travel buses, and large trucks.
The design and safety of High-Speed Ferries are regulated by the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) Convention.
