Welcome to goferry’s transparency & safety center

At goferry, operated by Travaela Ltd. (registered in Cyprus), we are dedicated to providing a safe, transparent, and trustworthy environment for searching, comparing, and booking ferry connections and travel services.

This statement provides official statutory disclosures under Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (Digital Services Act - DSA) and Regulation (EU) 2021/784 (Terrorist Content Online - TCO). It details our points of contact, notice-and-action mechanisms, content moderation rules, and search ranking transparency.

1. Designated points of contact

Pursuant to Articles 11 and 12 of the DSA, goferry has established dedicated electronic channels for direct, rapid, and two-way communication.

1.1 Single point of contact for authorities & removal orders

  • Email channel: compliance@go-ferry.com

  • Authorized receptors: European Commission, EU Member State Digital Services Coordinators, National Judicial Authorities, Law Enforcement Agencies, and the European Board for Digital Services.

  • Scope & purpose: This channel is dedicated exclusively to receiving judicial orders, administrative injunctions to act against illegal content (Art. 9 DSA), requests for user information (Art. 10 DSA), and removal orders for terrorist content under Regulation (EU) 2021/784.

  • Communication languages: English and Greek.

  • Filing requirements: Official communications must include the legal basis, issuing authority, and reference "DSA Order / Authority Communication" in the subject line.

1.2 Single point of contact for service recipients & passengers

  • Access portals: Electronic contact system via our Customer Support Portal and direct email at compliance@go-ferry.com.

  • Supported languages: English, Greek, German, French, Italian, and Spanish.

  • Human oversight guarantee: While automated ticketing systems assist with routing inquiries, goferry guarantees that all DSA inquiries, illegal content notices, and account appeals are reviewed directly by qualified human compliance staff.

2. Notice & action mechanism for illegal content

Goferry primarily operates as a direct transactional platform. However, to protect our platforms against unauthorized third-party uploads, fraudulent listings, or illegal activity, we maintain a free, accessible mechanism for reporting suspected illegal content.

2.1 How to submit an illegal content report

To file a report, email compliance@go-ferry.com with the subject line "DSA Notice - Illegal Content". Under Article 16(2) DSA, your notice must include:

  1. Substantiated explanation: A clear, detailed reason explaining why you allege the content or activity is illegal under EU or national law.

  2. Exact location: The precise electronic location (URL, booking reference, or screenshot).

  3. Identity details: Your full name and email address (except for reports regarding offenses under Directive 2011/93/EU).

  4. Bona fide confirmation: A declaration that you sincerely believe the allegations and details provided are accurate and complete.

2.2 Assessment & procedure

  • Confirmation: An automated confirmation of receipt will be sent without delay.

  • Objective review: Reports are reviewed objectively, diligently, and in a non-arbitrary manner by our safety team.

  • Reasoned decision: If action is taken (e.g., removing content or disabling access), both the reporter and the affected content provider will receive a formal Statement of Reasons outlining the decision.

3. Content moderation & misuse safeguards (Articles 17 & 23 DSA)

Goferry actively screens platform activity to prevent fraud, identity theft, unauthorized automated scraping, and account misuse.

3.1 Enforcement actions

Goferry reserves the right to remove non-compliant content, demote search visibility, suspend affiliate accounts, or restrict user profile/mobile app features.

3.2 Measures against repeated misuse

  • Frequent illegal content: Accounts that repeatedly upload manifestly illegal content will be temporarily or permanently suspended following a prior formal warning.

  • Manifestly unfounded notices: To prevent abuse of our reporting systems, users or entities that repeatedly submit unfounded reports will have their reporting access suspended.

4. Appeals, redress & dispute resolution

If you are affected by a moderation decision, account restriction, or report rejection, you have access to clear appeal paths:

4.1 Internal complaint-handling system

You may submit a free internal appeal within 6 months of receiving our decision by emailing compliance@go-ferry.com. All complaints are reassessed under senior human supervision.

4.2 Out-of-Court dispute settlement

You have the right to engage an independent Out-of-Court dispute settlement body certified by the competent EU Member State Digital Services Coordinator.

4.3 Judicial rights

Nothing in this policy restricts your right to seek legal remedies before competent national courts.

5. Search ranking & recommender system transparency

Goferry ensures full transparency regarding how travel options, ferry routes, and ticket pricing are displayed.

5.1 Search ranking parameters

Route options are presented based on objective criteria selected during your search, including departure time, total price (inclusive of taxes and fees), travel duration, vessel type, and real-time ferry operator availability.

5.2 Default sorting

Default search results display itineraries chronologically by departure time or optimized by price/duration balance.

5.3 Commercial & sponsored listings

Any sponsored ferry operator placements, promoted partner routes, or preferred affiliate offers are clearly marked with visible indicators such as "Promoted", "Sponsored", or "Special Offer".

6. EU Active user metrics

  • Calculation period: February 1, 2026 - July 31, 2026.

  • EU Average Monthly Active Users (AMAU): Goferry's average monthly active recipients of its services across its web platforms and mobile applications in the European Union remain below the 45 million threshold required for designation as a Very Large Online Platform (VLOP) under Article 33 DSA.

7. Statutory exemption & enterprise status

Travaela Ltd. operates as a small enterprise under EU Recommendation 2003/361/EC.

Pursuant to Article 19 DSA, small enterprises are exempt from the formal, annual transparency reporting burdens set out under Section 3 of the Digital Services Act. Should goferry grow into a medium enterprise, formal annual transparency reports will be published directly on this page following the applicable 12-month statutory transition period.
