How to get to Leros by ferry
- Overnight ferries leave Piraeus port (Athens) taking around 12 hours to arrive in Lakki port.
- Regular catamaran and flying dolphins inter-island ferries leave from Patmos, Kalymnos, Kos, Nisyros, Symi and Rhodes daily and they arrive in Agia Anna port (by bad weather conditions they may stop at Lakki port on the west coast).
How many ports in Leros?
Leros has two main ports:
- Long route and overnight ferry services usually call in the port of Lakki.
- Smaller boats tie up at Agia Anna in the south.

Leros road links
- The Leros road network is acceptable; the Italians who occupied in the island in the last war have developed pretty good roads on all island. Even the beaches to the north of the island have decent road links.
Public Bus Services on Leros
There are 2 local buses that can take you from Platanos to Lakki, Xerokambos, Alinda, Kamara and Partheni.
- From Pera Gialos a bus travels every 30 minutes in July and August (4 times daily rest months) to Chora and Livadi (cost approx. 1,40 Euro)
- From Chora and Pera Gialos in every hour for the months July and August (3 times daily rest months) to Analipsi / Maltezana for approx. 1.50 Euro via Marmari beach.
- Bus station: is in Platanos village right opposite the Taxi station.

Tip: Most of the hotels on Leros have their own minibus and will transfer you from the hotel to the port or vice versa. Try ringing them to find out if this service is available!
