History of Ciutadella

Ciutadella de Menorca is a historical town in the western part of Menorca in the Balearic Islands of Spain. Although not being the island's capital, it is the biggest town and is very much visited and admired by thousands of people every year. Its medieval style with fortresses and glorious buildings, crowded streets and clean beaches are enough to allure tourists. One of the city's main attractions is its old port (Port de Ciutadella) where you can stroll around and appreciate the stunning architecture influenced by the Moors along with its bustling cafeterias and restaurants. Bring your camera with you when you are in Ciutadella centre and more specifically, in Placa d'es Born, since there is the place with the city's main attractions. There are no holidays without sunbathing and you will feel lucky being in Ciutadella since it offers some great beaches such as Algaierens, del Pilar, Turqueta, Macarella and more. If you are lucky enough, you will attend a festival at the center of the city for the reason that many take place throughout the year.
